We wanted to bring emissions transparency to clients, and to do that we needed a way to calculate. We had a few conversations with specialists, and one discussion with Smart Freight Centre ended up being really pivotal in our decision making. They highlighted a big issue with emissions measurement which is the discrepency of calculation tools and methodology. To give an example, if two organisations are using the same framework, and input the same data, as there are so many variables their calculations their end output may differ. With this in mind, we knew we needed to find a recognised partner that actively stays up to date with changes to the calculation frameworks. Smart Freight Centre recommended we choose one that had been accredited by them, and who follow the GHG protocol and GLEC framework. SQUAKE was a great option.
