SQUAKE, the end-to-end carbon platform for the travel industry, has joined the Travalyst coalition, alongside a group of global leaders committed to transforming the future of sustainable travel. This marks a significant milestone for SQUAKE, joining forces with a coalition that includes Google, BCD Travel, Booking.com, and Visa, reinforcing a shared ambition to accelerate trustworthy and accessible sustainability data across the travel sector.
Reliable and transparent carbon emissions data forms the foundation for better decision-making and actionable emission reduction. Over the last three years, SQUAKE has been developing a rail emissions methodology through dedicated research and close collaboration with partners across Europe and the U.S. SQUAKE now brings this methodology to the coalition for further development and, importantly, distribution at scale through Travalyst's free and open-access Data Hub for consistent and credible travel industry sustainability information across the entire travel sector.
Travalyst brings together strategic vision and operational expertise from across the travel and technology ecosystem. Over recent years, close collaboration between SQUAKE and several coalition members has already demonstrated how shared approaches can improve the accessibility, consistency, and reliability of CO₂ data at scale.
Joining Travalyst marks the beginning of a deeper partnership, aimed at supporting the continued development of methodologies, standards, and tools that enable climate-conscious decision-making across the global travel industry.
We are delighted to welcome SQUAKE to the Travalyst coalition. This partnership will accelerate meaningful progress for the sector, building on the success we’ve already seen in the aviation space through the Travel Impact Model - developed by Google in collaboration with Travalyst - and the foundations we’ve built in the accommodation sector with the Data Hub. The collaboration marks the next station stop on the journey as we develop, incorporate and scale SQUAKE’s rail emissions methodology through the Data Hub.
